La carrière qui presque ne s'est pas produite

J’ai appris cette histoire de Guy Villeneuve, le webmestre du site excellent du club de hockey Les Saguenéens de Chicoutimi. Dans un court article du journal Le Quotidien de Chicoutimi (6 Mai 1977), on apprend qu'après la saison Guy rencontra un médecin de Chicoutimi concernant ses blessures aux épaules. (Ils ont été habituellement disloqués.) Celui-ci lui recommenda de mettre un terme a sa carrière de joueur de hockey. Guy, refusant de quitter le hockey, consulta un autre médecin de Montréal (Ted Percy) qui lui opéra les deux épaules, sauvant sa carrière. Après cette opération Guy manqua tout le camp d'entrainement et le début de la saison 1977-78 (deux parties). Quelle belle carrière aurait été gachée si Guy avait écouté ce médecin de Chicoutimi!

Plus tard pendant l'année 1977: Il paraît que ses épaules fonctionnent bien maintenant.

The career that almost wasn't

I learned this story from Guy Villeneuve, the webmaster of the excellent site about the Chicoutimi Saguéneens hockey club. In a short article in the Chicoutimi newspaper Le Quotidien (May 6, 1977), it is written that after the season Guy consulted a Chicoutimi doctor concerning his injured shoulders. (They were habitually dislocated.) This doctor recommended that he terminate his hockey career. Guy, refusing to quit hockey, consulted another doctor in Montreal (Ted Percy) who operated on both his shoulders, saving his career. After this operation, Guy missed all of training camp and the start of the 1977-78 season (two games). What a beautiful career would have been thrown away if Guy had listed to the Chicoutimi doctor!

Later during the year 1977: It appears his shoulders work fine now.
