Le chandail 21 retiré

CHICOUTIMI, PQ: L'as hockeyeur Guy Carbonneau, un athlète de Sept-Îles, qui appartient aux Canadiens de Montréal, sera honoré de belle façon demain soir, alors que les dirigeants des Sags annonceront le retrait du chandail numéro 21.

Lors d'une brève cérémonie, on remettra à Carboneau, le chandail portant le numéro 21, afin de lui rendre hommage pour ses performances au cours de ses quatre années passées dans l'uniforme des Sags.

En quatre années dans les rangs de cette formation saguenéenne, Guy Carbonneau a accumulé pas moins de 435 points, tandis que l'ancien record était de 388 points et appartenait à Sylvain Locas.

En plus d'être un joueur de haut calibre, Carbonneau a toujours impressionné le public par sa détermination, sa simplicité et sa modestie.

Au cours de ces quatre années dans l'uniforme des Sags, Carbonneau a donné le bon exemple et n'as pas ménagé ses efforts.

Le numéro 21 passera donc définitivement à la postérité, demain soir. Carbonneau le mérite amplement.

Sweater #21 to be retired

CHICOUTIMI, PQ: Star hockey player Guy Carbonneau, an athlete from Sept-Îles who is now affliated with the Montreal Canadiens, will be honored in fine fashion tomorrow evening, when the directors of the Sags will announce the retirement of sweater number 21.

During a brief ceremony, the jersey bearing the number 21 will be returned to Carbonneau, in order to pay him tribute for his performance in the course of his four years spent in the uniform of the Sags.

In four years among the ranks of that Saguenéen team, Guy Carbonneau accumulated no fewer than 435 points, whereas the former record was 388 points and belonged to Sylvain Locas.

More than a player of high caliber, Carbonneau always impressed the public with his determination, his straightforwardness and his modesty.

In the course of his four years in the Sags uniform, Carbonneau set a good example and spared no effort to do his best.

The number 21 passes thus forever to posterity, tomorrow evening. Of this Carbonneau is most deserving.
